Liverpool's Anfield stadium evacuated amid 'security concerns'

Merseyside Police have confirmed they are in attendance at Liverpool's Anfield stadium amid "security concerns" after the club evacuated the ground.

Merseyside Police can confirm that a search of Anfield is currently underway after the club raised an alert at 3.05pm this afternoon that the ground had been evacuated after a man who had been on a tour was unaccountd for and beleived to be in the stadium.


The police statement continues: "The club cannot guarantee that the man has left the ground and therefore a search of the ground is underway.


"Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on the 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
